PEOPLES COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION

. . .is located in Hopkins, Minnesota.  Hopkins is located 13 miles from Minneapolis and is about 4 square miles in size.  It is surrounded by the larger, western communities of Minnetonka, St. Louis Park and Edina.

The first settlers arrived in 1854; and in 1928 the village name was changed to HOPKINS - for Henry H. Hopkins, the first postmaster and one of the first to the homestead community.

Hopkins is about 98% developed with little remaining vacant land.  It has been in a re-development mode for a number of years, and this will continue as a result of progressive city leaders who continually look for ways to improve, maintain and preserve this historic community.
